RMS Tariff increases

Following a visit by the Development Assistance Planning Mission, which took place from 01 - 09 March this year, DfID officials agreed to recommend an increase in the shipping subsidy by 19% to £3.056m. However this would not meet in full the expected deficit on shipping operations and it was agreed that SHG would also need to approve increases in RMS tariffs to fill the expected gap.

Following a meeting of Executive Council on 28 March 2006 RMS tariffs have been increased by the following rates:

A & B deck fares   ------ 5%
Freight tariffs ------------ 2%

C deck fares remain the same

The increases will take effect from 05 April 2006 although all current bookings will be honoured at the previous rates.

A full list of freight rates is available from the Shipping Agents on request.
