Voyageur Tour Overview

Before aircraft the only method of travel to exotic far flung places was by sea. The advent of air travel changed this and the journey to get to the destination is more often an endurance test rather than a holiday. However, the RMS St Helena still evokes a spirit where the voyage is as much a part of the holiday as the actual destination.

As well as enjoying the may activities on board during the voyage, this tour will take you Tenerife, Ascension Island and St Helena before arriving into Cape Town approximately one month after you have departed from Portland.

Itinerary

Day 1: Board the RMS St Helena in Portland UK. Set sail for Tenerife. The voyage takes 4 nights and arrival into Tenerife is normally early moring,

DAY 6: Arrive Tenerife. The RMS arrives into Santa Cruz and the day can be spent on shore. Excursions are available to book upon arrival with local tourist services. You will told what time to return to the ship before departure to Ascension Island.

Over the next xxx days you can enjoy the many activities arranged on board the RMS and of course you can experience or simply watch as the ‘Passing of the Equator Ceremony’ takes place.

DAY  13: Arrive into Ascension Island. Excursions are available to book upon arrival with local tourist services where possible or you can simply explore the island at you own leisure. Car rental is also available, but we do recommend this is booked ahead of arrival with Andrew Weir Shipping. You will told what time to return to the ship before departure to Ascension Island.
The RMS normally departs late afternoon from Ascension to St Helena.

DAY 16: Arrive St Helena. Upon arrival, and after customs clearance and immigration, you will be taken from the ship onto the launch and taken to the Wharf at Jamestown Harbour where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation on the island.
Tours of the island can be pre – booked or booked upon arrival at the tourist office in Jamestown.

DAY 25: You will be transferred to the RMS St Helena for departure to Cape Town.

DAY 30: Arrive Cape Town. After customs and immigration you will be transferred to your hotel.

DAY 31: Tour Ends
